I'll save you the trouble of digging, even if you were inclined to, and say that there are some "socialist" ideals that I think hold merit.

Andy, unless you've had issues with the narcs before, short-term use between now and surgery wouldn't be a problem, and in varmit hunter's own words, it'll "take the teeth off the hacksaw". Then again, with your history, you may have max'd out on them in the past and I can understand your hesitation to go there. Not my or anyone else's business. The last time my neck went out, I began to see some mild dependency issues in myself with the narcs and got the doc involved right away.

Good luck. We're all pulling for you (at least, most of us are) and you're not getting booted anywhere. Hell,your pain-addled rants are as much what this place is about as anything else I can see going on anywhere esle. LOL Off the scales as far as entertainment value.

Just an observation on what Andy wrote above.

Now, I know that it is impolite to use the word nigger, at least for caucasions. But, in casual conversation between blacks, they use the word all the time; and I don't mean the "n word", either.

The most offensive commercial on TV is where there are three white people reading labels on pain medication and adding up the numbers, "take two tablets five times a day for five days...why, that's 80 pills!"

Then a black woman walks in, (she has it all together, obviously) picks up the prefered brand which need not be taken anywhere near as many times and while talking to herself, says "Perfect" and walks away, wasting no time at all and still leaving the lame brained white people scratching their heads, trying to add up the numbers without removing their shoes.

The trend in informercials, for a long time, is that the white person is stupid and the black person is the doctor, the authority figure, or maybe the mom that certainly knows all the answers. When was the last time you saw a commercial where the white person was explaining something to a clueless black? The message is; we are stupid, black people are smarter.

And, don't tell me it is a rare example. It is every example. There must be a black person, and they must be the smartest person in the room.

My comment was directed at the content of the programs on the Out Door chanel. Very little that I can relate to. Too many whitetail progams that start out "Hi, I'm famous guy XXX XXXX and I'm here on a private ranch where I'll pass up bigger bucks than you've ever seen while pursuing this week's trophy of a lifetime". There may or may not be a cute bimbo involved that is likely the 'brains' of the operation. The turkey hunts are all the same; boring. Then there's the guy in Africa telling me how tough the stalk is..........with 5 people, not counting the camera crew. If I could afford to have someone along to carry my shooting sticks, I'd bring the cute bimbo from the whitetail program. How about the guy killing the elk at >800 yards??? Yes, he's a hell of a shot, but that's shooting......not hunting.

All in all, these programs provide next to nothing in the form of useable information and tips to the average hunter. They are, however, big on product placement..........

Currently, it's black characters that are being used predominantly. I recall seeing that commercial and thinking the same thing. For any fans of "24" of Fox, whose writing staff is predominantly conservative, did anyone else note that the head of CTU was a black man who managed under the my-way-or-the-highway approach, counldn't be told anything by anyone, and whose arrogance managed to get the entire place blown to hell?

Just after 9-11-01, there was a sharp increase in the number of olive-skinned folks being used on the fronts of magazines, in advertising, etc.. I see a lot of these trends in the mail that I sort.

With the AZ Immigration law issue, I soon expect to see more Hispanics in positive roles in advertising. In fact, if the trend continues, I don't doubt that we'll have oil-soaked Mexicans with bad mortgages rasing more money for Haiti and pushing for gun control and net neutrality on the interweb lecturing fat white guys in lawn chairs while they wear three pointed hats while the Mexicans lecture us on the evils of Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin!

Thanks for all the well wishes. I have noticed myself not being very nice to my wife and kids as well. Not proud of it, but I dont know what to do about it. Hopefully the doc will call me tomorrow and get me in quick. Im going to Barnes Jewish Hospital, fuckin Hebes, and Im told they are in the top five in the nation. This guys been there 29 years. So, he should be good. I hope. We shall see.

I like some of the other boards, but there is nothing out there even close to this place be it for people who know their shit or a diversity of people who have a blast.
