Hogwash! We're not ruthless, just honest. I do have a question though, what's a "GY" ? did you break the "U" on your keyboard.... or was it the "A"? I'm just joking, unless you're from Minnesota. No seriously, teach away brochacho, maybe you have something to teach that will benefit the unwashed masses.

BJR, as a self appointed Sgt. of the spelling and grammar police, you are in violation of Code 2 section 16 of the posting rules. Past tense post participle pre participle onomatopoeically incorrect.

Why are you so paranoidish? I never said it was you, I merely suggested that it could possibly be someone from Upland. You know there is an Upland NE. too so it could be someone from there. LOL

Either way it's amusing.

What's all this talk about BJs without having to buy a drink?

How could there be an Upland, Nebraska? It's all basically flat, right?

About 110 years ago, Upland was called, "north Ontario", or Upland for short. Used to be a rather important citrus growing capital, and you still can't give away oranges and lemons, in this town. Just about everyone has at least one lemon tree. I have one, but used to have 5. All the homes were built in groves and they made an effort to preserve as many as possible when north Upland went residential. It is now completely "built-out" no open land whatsoever in this town. Other than the required parks, etc.

And, yes, I said "north" Upland which is anything north of Foothill Boulevard, our more affluent part of town. There are large rock quarries forming the boundaries on both sides of town, east and west. The western boundary is also the dividing line between Los Angelus County and the much larger, San Bernardino County. Anything north of I-10 is the dividing line between the City of Ontario and the much smaller City of Gracious Living, ie: Upland, the quintessential bedroom community; population, about 75,000. Foothill Blvd. must be at least 30 miles in length and run through 15/20 different cities along the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains. That's off the top of my head, could be more could be less?

Sleepy little town and the biggest scandal in the cities history is the Mayor was recently indicted on racketeering, and he's a friggin' Polack. Seems he wanted a bribe to obtain business licenses for two questionable firms; it's in all the papers, FBI involved, etc.

I know; too much info.

BJ,

You came on here and announced your intentions to teach us something... not the best way to introduce yourself to people who have no idea of who or what you are about.

Maybe the school you attended didn't teach spelling? I find it hard to believe that anyone with enough knowledge of computers and the internet to use a "mirror" server would also not be able to use spellcheck!

Tell me I'm wrong or prove me otherwise, you won't get a free ride from me or most of the other guys here by busting out with a disrespectful attitude.

I think I learned a new word from all this..."homophonic"......still not sure how it applies though.

–adjective
1.
having the same sound.
2.
Music . having one part or melody predominating ( opposed to polyphonic).

homophonic (ˌhɒməˈfɒnɪk)

— adj
1. of or relating to homophony
2. of or relating to music in which the parts move together rather than independently

I beg to differ t-bag, no I don't blather on and on about worthless shit like you do, I'm somewhat jaded to the "info about calling" threads as most of it has been covered before, I do however like to sit around the campfire and discuss calling stuff with friends, that's how I view this site, a bunch of friends sitting around the campfire exchanging ideas and dirty jokes and talking about guns and coyotes and whatever else. I don't feel the need to impress or educate everyone or ANYONE with all my incredible knowledge like you enjoy doing so much.

Most people here start or participate in a thread to voice an opinion or ask advice, present new ideas or just plain bitch about something but you only join in to educate others on how to do it right and then you argue with people who have more expertise than you can even imagine only to get your ass handed back to you on a platter then you pop up with posts like this.

Do you see anything wrong with that? Dumb question, of course you don't.

BTW t-bag.....BJ is a troll, grab a seat and enjoy the show dipshit, he's just havin fun with it. Instead of being your usual all knowing idiot self, try having a little fun, it,s a campfire t-bag, relax.

A troll for sure. I think I have a hunch who it is too.

Posted by Nikonut (Member # 188) on March 27, 2011, 07:57 PM:

It's really quite simple...

This guy lists his homepage as <http://Iknoweverythinaboutcoyotes.com>, he lists his occupation as, "Geenyus", he immediately stirs crap and claims, "I make a few collecter calls myself. Probably the best you ever heard. Don't make em too often cause it keeps the predator population steady. Iffin I made too many the population would drop too quick." and in general loves the attention and creating static. He's a troll and nothing more.

He's had a chance to post pics of his calls, or share his knowledge but has done neither. He talks like a dummy then can post this... "That's a good one. I've been quite civil compared to some. They call into question my motivations and demand answers. Thats the precipice."

He's playing stupid but he's not entirely dumb! I'm all for hearing something of value but I've heard nothing so far.

I already posted this and repeat:

"Now what is it that you want to learn and what are you going to teach all of us?

This is your chance to redeem yourself..."

Well, if he keeps getting the Peanut Gallery all lathered up, I will have to consider suspending his posting privileges. But, a careful review tells me he is a blowhard and intentionally baiting JD and niko. I have already asked him to tone it down and act like he wants to be here. I've already seen enough to think there is no point in giving him more rope, but if you guys want to keep responding to his crap he looks like he enjoys pulling the wings off of bugs.

BJR, you might want to leave this site while you still have some hair left. you will be nothing but a target from here on out for some of the REAL MEN on this site. you know, the ones that like to talk hunting and guns and such. sad really that a hunting site is turning into a verbal wreastling match.

Does that mean you really are a man bearhunter?

With a macho name like that I would think so... do you "wrastle them thar bares" or just shoot'em out behind the barn?

Well, darn, I get surprised everyday! By the way, when was the last time you posted any useful hunting info??? I hope your shoe tastes good.

Nikonut

Edited for spelling! LOL

Bearhunter, I assure you, your sympathy is misguided. I know what's going on and it is BJ that is stirring the shit and the others are doing nothing more than scolding a troll. As I said above, this guy is not at all innocent and deserves the flack directed toward him. Don't get all bent out of shape and quarrel on his behalf with the others, he's not long for this particular world.

Good hunting. LB

edit: and the rest, leave bearhunter alone, he's being charitable, but he is naive enough to take BJ at face value.

Ya know Bear....you're right. I want to take a second to publicly apologize for turning this site into a disgraceful train wreck and verbal wrestling match, I was wrong and it was very ignorant of me to accuse BJ of being a troll and coming here to merely have fun with whichever huckleberry he could get to buy into his story, and I apologize for thinking that anyone else would dare to have fun in such a situation, totally ignorant of me.

To show that I'm open to see the error of my ways and make a serious change in my REAL MAN ways I would like to offer you the opportunity to start a meaningful and useful conversation with BJ and I will take notes on how I should act on this forum as will others, so feel free to start another thread with BJ and I will humbly observe the proper way to behave and interact with "guests" like BJ.

BJ please accept my most humble apologies, I hope I didn't offend your sensitive nature by thinking that you were having fun, I should've realized by the nature of your posts that you are indeed very serious about helping us become better hunters, I don't know how I missed the obvious seriousness of your posts, I hope you can find it in your heart to forgive me.

LB, I need to apologize to you too, I'm sorry for ruining your site and for this obvious delusion that I have about a troll and having a little fun with it, my bad, I'll see about getting some help.

Lets see, is there anyone else that I should apologize to......hhmmmmm.....nope, thats all I can think of.

Niko; You should do a little search and find out who youre talking to.. Here is a clue (Bucksnbears)
No slouch when it comes to killing coyotes or competeing against others as well..
For those that like to keep track of numbers he is right up there with Q and he dose'nt have to go to Texas to do it..
Sorry for stepping in Bucks.. [Wink]

"he is right up there with Q and he dose'nt have to go to Texas to do it.."

Wow, timmy,

You really are an equal opportunity offender, aren't you? In your defense, was this statement meant to be a compliment to bearhunter or an insult to Quinton? I mean, hell, the guy doesn't even get online but about once a month and you, for whatever reason, contrive the need to bust his balls when you don't carry the clout to lick the sweat from 'em. Again, wow.

Do you even realize how you come across to others? I know you don't care, but do you realize how abrasive and offensive you are to reasonable people?

On another site, there's a discussion about how long it would take for timmy to stick his dick in the drawer again. I wonder who won the pool this time? [Smile]

Every time you scooch up to the computer, you affirm and validate everything that's been posted about you here and elsewhere.

Again, if you ever have the cajones to show up at another campout, I sure wish I could be there to see them bury your sorry ass in the desert.

Just,... wow.

You figure it out..As for licking Q's balls is'nt that youre job..

I think Q knows me well enough to know it was'nt a insult to him, he seems to have a pretty good head on his shoulders to figure it out. You on the other hand are just stirring the pot again and make it something more than what it is..

niko, i enjoy reading posts for RR,Scott H, Brad T,Jamie O, Jerry H,and and the likes of them. respectfull and i can learn from them and have learned from them. their advice have helped me put more coyotes on the ground and i'm gratefull for it and would be proud to call them friend. pehaps a dumb fuck like yourself can't see that the guys mentioned don't come on here very often. hhmm, wonder why??as for you that feel the needs to mob up on certain individualls, get a fuckin life. seems like you and you ilk come here for nothing more than to ragg someones ass. i'll bet your not welcome on many sites. as for advise. naw, i don't kill enough coyotes to do that. for some reason i feel like bjr, branded from the get go so i don't post of the HUGE amount of knowledge i have on killing coyotes. if i were to say i killed em with a 22-250 with a tsx, fuck heads like jd and niko would say their a bad bullet. TA might be a good time for you also to leave. maybe some of these dicks will find something else to do than to come here for the sole purose of cutting you down. i don't give a shit what you bastards think. if someone kills the amount of coyotes as TA does, it's best to listen. pick through his post's and glean some advice. sorry for the rant LB and you can kick me off and no harm done but this shit really should stop. hell, i can't even believe myself that i wrote this post. Let the festivities continue, I guess.

One of the best quotes in a movie, EVER. Not directed at anyone.

Kurtz: I expected someone like you. What did you expect? Are you an assassin?
Willard: I'm a soldier.
Kurtz: You're neither. You're an errand boy, sent by grocery clerks, to collect a bill.

Actually, tim, no. I won't be at the campout this year. Those with whom I've discussed this know that in order for me to get that time off (usually) in October, I have to submit the leave request in mid-November the year before. Since Leonard and the guys here have never set the dates that far ahead, I can't get the time off to go. At the same time, leave requests are granted based on seniority under our contract and I have four other people above me, two of which take up all of October and most of November to hunt elk/ deer out of state. In exchange for that, I have all of January to myself if I want it. Would I like to? Very much, but until I'm up the ladder a few notches, that won't be happening.

As far as Q, you once again give yourself too much credit. He does, in fact, know you "well" enough to know you. I'll leave it at that, but suffice to say that I was on the phone with him when you posted that. LOL

bearhunter,

Whether timmy can kill coyotes or not is secondary to the fact that he draws fire upon himself. Incontrovertible. Whether or not he's a decent coyote hunter is secondary to the fact that I personally don't like him as a human. With that said, I just don't see the unfounded attacks you and others keep referring to. At least, not when the so-called targets don't draw that same fire upon themselves. I'd dislike the little bastard if this was a crocheting website. It has nothing to do with coyotes, and I'm pretty sure that the feelings are mutual. With a few exceptions, this site's traffic is your basic guys-giving-each-other-shit-screw-your-candy-ass-TOS type man talk. Honest, straight forward and unadulterated by the politically correct. What I see here is not a bit unlike the bantering that goes on any Friday or Saturday nights down the street in my neighbor's garage where we sit around drinking a few cold beers and giving each other a bad time. You either give it back or move on, and peace of mind is just one click away, as has been stated.

As for our newest member, whoever he may be, are you freakin' kidding me?!? Whoever that is came here under an alias knowing just which buttons to push and which chains to yank. IMO, whoever it is is here doing what they're doing intentionally for one reason - to have some fun with guys. And then someone like yourself has to get all sensitive about how they're being treated. he's being treated that way because he came here to be treated that way. If this group is one thing, it's predictable.

As Chad once said, (I believe), there ain't no cryin' in coyote hunting.

Well BJR it seems you have lost your accent again.

Apocolypse now is one of my favorite movies. I even read the book it is based upon...Heart of Darkness. Did you read it?

I am just a dumb guy from NJ though, and I don't see how the quote fits in here.

As for Bearhunter, he is an HM member and is entitled to his opinion. By the same token Bear, Niko and the rest of the bunch are entitled to their opinions. BJR is a big boy and obviously knows exactly what he is doing here.

"You figure it out.."

Simple question, tim. Nut up and give a straight answer.

WHAT WAS YOUR POINT?

Or, are you incapable of making a statement to one man's credit without insulting someone else?

As an afterthought, I actually changed my sig line to a quote I have always thought is quite insightful and to get away from busting your chops, tim. But, upon further review, this quote is appropriate since you rarely pull the same dumb stunt two times in a row, but what you do is generally close enough to almost rhyme. LOL

Hi Beeej, whats up?

Bear, You don't pay attention, this was all fun til you doused it with tears...I have never made an attack on any member of this site except t-bag and for that you will never hear an apology sincere or joking around.

You're a bad judge of character as you've shown by your ignorance concerning BJ and by believing that t-bag is someone who should be listened to....personally I don't care if you and t-bag swap spit and piss in each others boots.....he is what he is and it won't ever change.

All of us have learned from that list of people and more, what does that mean?

I feel sorry for you Bear, you're a trusting person, I can tell that from your posts but you've been duped in a big way. Be careful Bear t-bag will ride you like a cheap mexican mule in hopes of being as famous as you but in the end you'll be as famous as he is, that isn't what you want, trust me.

I don't have anything against you but your accusations about us(me) attacking everyone on this site aren't even remotely close to the truth and you obviously still don't understand that BJ had no serious reason to be here, we "branded" him correctly, I and many others were getting a chuckle out of him, he's probably a hell of a guy, I'd prolly buy him a beer, but for now he IS a troll, period.

I had listed SEVERAL links for you to go and see for yourself what t-bag is all about, links that had absolutely nothing to do with me, but I decided to save them for another day, and there will most certainly be another day trust me, it's a fools errand to ally yourself with t-bag.

I know you feel as though there have been unjustified attacks....I'm sorry you feel that way.

I still think bearhunter has sort of tendered his resignation, though I'm a bit mystified as to why? This BJ asshole ain't worth getting excited over. Furthermore, he expected the exact reaction that he got and in true Robb Krause fashion, has most likely creamed his knickers several times the past few days, therefore, I'm sure he thinks it was worth the effort.

Me, I don't get it, and once again I'm a victim of ill advised policies concerning the function of the edit and delete buttons. I will never learn.

Okay, I want you to understand what's going on here. You seem worried that the conversation is too scary to continue? Offensive, banal, stupid, etc.

However, consider this.

You, as a member have a unique opportunity to have a conversation on the Internet without some moderator stepping in and controlling what is said. I believe this to be a valuable freedom. It's called FREEDOM OF SPEECH, and it is in damned short supply, everywhere you turn. In order for this to work, you have to tolerate freakin' idiots, occasionally spouting total bullshit. Eventually, you get a chance to share your views. How kool is that? I don't think it's a difficult concept to understand, but that's just me?

Now, you don't really want me to control what members say, do you?

GH/LB

edit: PS I don't kick members off for expressing their opinion. The TOS has only one condition, if you recall?

Whether you seek notoriety or not, you have it. I haven't partaken of a phone conversation with a fellow caller in three weeks without your name being brought up. You've embarrassed yourself and those with whom you've chosen to associate yourself, and yet, those people are conspicuously absent in your defense. You will deny that, and that is predictable, but it rings true nonetheless. You assume respect. And once again in a long line of once agains, you're incorrect.

Good luck, tim. You will be forever all lower case. Not conceding anything - just choosing not to aid you any further in your own self-destruction. Just has to be better things to do than rassle with you. LOL

How could anybody not remember that quote from Apocalypse Now? There were some great lines from that movie! Remember when the dude went haulin' ass back to the boat after going ashore to get some mangos and they run into the tiger, and he kept sayin' "Never get off the boat! Never get off the boat!". And when Kurz talks about crawling along the edge of a straight razor? And I can still hear the voice coming over the radio at the end saying, "PBR Streetgang, this is Almighty, over..." before they drop the napalm! "...And then there's the Chief...it may have been my mission, but it sure as hell was the Chief's boat." That was a damn fine movie!!!

and nd coyote killer, I like your Bear Claw quote, too! Another damn fine movie!!!

Two other movies I've lately become fond of are "The Objective" and "The Fourth Kind".

Lonesome Dove. I never saw the whole thing, just tuned in when there was a lot of chatter. Sorry I missed it, but I sure as hell didn't like the way Gus got it. Not right.

And, dragging him back to Texas. Kinda like in the Three Burials of Milquedes, which I liked. A lot. That movie always reminded me of No Country for Old Men.

The BP agent in 3 burials was Barry Pepper, didn't see him again until recently in True Grit.

Anyway, just about anything Duval is in is good, and same with Tommy Lee Jones.

Unforgiven was really sad at the end, I coulda cried.

Dual in the Sun was a hell of a picture, the way it ended was awesome.

A good western is hard to beat.

Leonard, he was talking about going to a village and giving vaccinations. They left and came back and the soldiers had cut off every child's arm that had a needle mark. Which then prompted this exchange:

Kurtz: I've seen horrors... horrors that you've seen. But you have no right to call me a murderer. You have a right to kill me. You have a right to do that... but you have no right to judge me. It's impossible for words to describe what is necessary to those who do not know what horror means. Horror... Horror has a face... and you must make a friend of horror. Horror and moral terror are your friends. If they are not, then they are enemies to be feared. They are truly enemies! I remember when I was with Special Forces... seems a thousand centuries ago. We went into a camp to inoculate some children. We left the camp after we had inoculated the children for polio, and this old man came running after us and he was crying. He couldn't see. We went back there, and they had come and hacked off every inoculated arm. There they were in a pile. A pile of little arms. And I remember... I... I... I cried, I wept like some grandmother. I wanted to tear my teeth out; I didn't know what I wanted to do! And I want to remember it. I never want to forget it... I never want to forget. And then I realized... like I was shot... like I was shot with a diamond... a diamond bullet right through my forehead. And I thought, my God... the genius of that! The genius! The will to do that! Perfect, genuine, complete, crystalline, pure. And then I realized they were stronger than we, because they could stand that these were not monsters, these were men... trained cadres. These men who fought with their hearts, who had families, who had children, who were filled with love... but they had the strength... the strength... to do that. If I had ten divisions of those men, our troubles here would be over very quickly. You have to have men who are moral... and at the same time who are able to utilize their primordial instincts to kill without feeling... without passion... without judgment... without judgment! Because it's judgment that defeats us.

It's by far my favorite movie of all time.

Apocalypse was good, but I'm thinkin' Platoon had a touch more realism to it, although both had their wildass parts.

Lonesome Dove ranks No. 2 on the All-Time Greats list. As far as I'm concerned, Duvall and Jones gave the performances of their careers in that miniseries. The acting, the story, the soundtrack..it is probably the best Western ever made.

No. 1 goes to my absolute end-of-the-world favorite...Centennial. The story of America and Manifest Destiny, offered up for America's Bicentennial. I love it all, but my favorite is the first 2 episodes, with Pasquinel and McKeag. Those episodes deal with the fur trade era, but, like Lonesome Dove, is as much about the relationship between two men as anything else.

Another good one was "Streets of Laredo", the end of the Lonesome Dove installments, with James Garner.

after an evening b.s. session spent partially about favorite westerns, I realized I was sorely lacking in what I've seen!
Since then, I've been doing my 'dvd homework' & just recently again watched The Outlaw Josey Wales. KJ, you was right 'bout that one!

I also really enjoyed Val Kilmer as Doc Holiday in Tombstone!

"I'm your huckleberry..."

"Something around the eyes, I don't know, reminds me of... ME.
No. I'm sure of it, I hate him." (speaking of Johnny Ringo)

"It appears my hypocrisy knows no bounds"

"I have not yet begun to defile myself"

"You're no daisy! You're no daisy at all. Poor soul, you were just too high strung" (after killing Ringo)

soooo many more from the real good flicks!

the new model "True Grit"

"If he wanted a proper burial he should have got himself kilt in summer"

Mattie Ross: "Why did they hang him so high?"

Rooster: "I do not know. Possibly in the belief it'd make him more dead..."

LOL!

Josey Wales, Tombstone, Quigley...all good stuff.

If any of y'all read, you might wanna check out both Centennial and Alaska, by James A. Michener. The miniseries was based on the Centennial novel. Alaska just interested the heck out of me, and kept my attention, probably because there was a lot I didn't know about it, and the book was rich in history. I also read Texas, because I lived in Texas for 5 years, and was published right after I got back, and it was good too, even to including the ubiquitous armadillo in it! When I moved to Texas, they started telling me about the state, and started to tell me about having armadillos there, and I had to laugh, because I've seen tons of them in Florida..they are all over the place here, which they didn't seem to know.

I saw far more armadillos in Missouri than I have ever seen in Texas. Just driving through, road kills.

I'm not real big on Texas as a place to visit or to live. No offense, Texans, but nobody holds back with their opinion of The People's Republik, so that's what I think.

His actions in the saloon, and his admonishment to the townspeople before he rides out, is in stark contrast to his demeanor when the movie starts, talking about how his wife got him to change his ways and become more godly. For a while you think the bloodthirsty killer of his youth is extinct forever, even when he is getting his ass kicked by little Bill in the saloon. (There was much talk in the media about that scene just before the movie was released, regarding how brutal is was.) He seems very passive and meek. But before it's over, a metamorphosis takes place and he reverts to his former self. And whether it is The Outlaw Josey Wales, or in Unforgiven, when Clint Eastwood gets apeshit pissed off, you just know you don't wanna be within 500 miles, cuz baaad shit is fixin' to happen!!!

AS WWII movies go, I have to say Private Ryan is the most accurate. I base that on the fact that the second time I saw it, I was in Topeka, Kansas undergoing training for the Postal Service and had an afternoon to kill. I was in a theatre with about forty-some older people, many of whom were of the age that they very well may have been there. I'd already seen the movie and had seen a blurb on one of the morning shows about how the first 22 minutes impacted WWII vets for its realism. At the suggestion of the guy being interviewd, I turned around and looked behind me into the faces of the other movie goers and will have to say that yes, those old men had tears in their eyes. Very strong response to that movie, I would say.

I bet many of these are available streamed through Netflix if a guy were to look. We use the crap out of that subscription in this house. LOL

Yeah Rich, and old Tom Horn was a bad ass with his. Here is what a brief search came up with:

The "Winchester" RifleMain article: Winchester rifle
In 1866 Benjamin Henry, angered over what he believed was inadequate compensation, attempted to have the Connecticut legislature award ownership of New Haven Arms to him. Oliver Winchester, hastening back from Europe, forestalled the move and reorganized New Haven Arms yet again as the Winchester Repeating Arms Company.[2] Winchester had the basic design of the Henry rifle completely modified and improved to become the first Winchester rifle, the Model 1866, which fired the same .44 caliber rimfire cartridges as the Henry but had an improved magazine (with the addition of a loading gate on the right side of the receiver, invented by Winchester employee Nelson King) and, for the first time, a wooden forearm. The Henry and the 1866 Winchester shared a unique double firing pin which struck the head of the rimfire cartridge in two places when the weapon was fired, increasing the chances that the fulminate in the hollow rim would ignite the 28 or so grains of black powder inside the case.

Another extremely popular model was rolled out in 1873. The Model 1873 introduced the first Winchester center fire cartridge, the .44-40 WCF (Winchester Center Fire). These rifle families are commonly known as the "Gun That Won the West."

The Model 1873 was followed by the Model 1876 (or "Centennial Model"), a larger version of the '73, which utilized the same toggle-link action and brass cartridge elevator dating from the Henry. It was chambered for longer, more powerful cartridges such as .45-60 WCF, .45-75 WCF, and .50-95 WCF. The action was not long enough to allow Winchester to achieve their goal of producing a repeating rifle capable of handling the .45-70 Government cartridge; this would not happen until they began manufacture of the Browning-designed Model 1886.

Another interesting movie was '84 Charlie Mopic'. It was predicated on a combat correspondent embedded with a unit and going on a mission with it. At the time, there were questions raised as to whether it was real or whether it was Hollywood.

A similar path was followed by 'The Fourth Kind', which presumably told a story with actors but interlaced with supposed real video of actual sessions with the psychiatrist the movie was about. There was even a website started ref it, but was later forced to take it down. In point of fact, 'The Fourth Kind' was, like '84 Charlie Mopic', entirely a product of Hollywood.

Another interesting movie was 'Go Tell The Spartans', a movie about American advisors in Vietnam in the early days of that conflict.

I used to have Netflix. But, then I heard, and found out that they intentionally fiddle with your availability, when you exceed a certain amount, per month. Some titles become unavailable, or there is a long waiting list. If you decide to endure the wait, sometimes they just delete the film from your quay. Struck me as dishonest.

I heard the same thing, Leonard, from this meth-mouthed skank working at the local Movie Gallery dvd rental place. When I asked her where she'd heard that, she was honest enough to tell me that their management told them to say that whenever NetFlix was brought up. A month later, MG went out of business nationwide.

I do know that NetFlix generates about $60M a year in revenue for the postal service and we take timely delivery of those little red envelopes very, very seriously. I subscribed because they support my employer and my wife will sit for hours on the weekend streaming movies and shows from TV. I watch them on my netbook through the router in the shop where I don't have cable or internet hardwired.

Posted by Leonard (Member # 2) on March 31, 2011, 05:21 PM:

Yeah, well I HEARD, and everything started to make sense. That's exactly what they do and I don't blame the Postal Service for it, at all. As a company policy, if you order more than a certain amount, they delay shipment sometimes for a ridiculous amount of time. Okay, this was before streaming, etc. but it made a lasting impression on this kid.

My wife's queue list numbers about 165 movies last time I looked. I asked her if she ever noticed anything that appeared that Netflix was delaying new releases and she said no. Those that were delayed stated so when first added to the list and stayed that way as they worked their way up until the movie came available. And all of them were movies in the theaters at the time and we signed up for them just to get in line.

Now, our daughter kept changing up the order and requesting movies for kids, but them actually delaying anything simply has not happened. In fact, we have the Inception BluRay DVD laying in the family room right now and it was just in the theaters a couple weeks ago. In fact, I often get e-mails from Netflix asking us to rate their service. As far as ordering too many movies, I have mail customers who get 1, sometimes 2 every single day and they're going through as many as ten movies a week being distributed from their Wichita terminal. (We're signed up for one at a time because I mainly want the streaming.) I don't know what your personal experience was there in California, but it isn't happening here. Probably 1 in 5 of my mail customers are Netflix subscribers and I have 538 delivery points on my route.

Posted by Leonard (Member # 2) on March 31, 2011, 07:46 PM:

Wasn't my imagination. Maybe they decided to get legit? But they did it to me and I wasn't getting more than one a day and probably about (guess) fifteen a month. I would put a title on my list, and not one of their top 100 rentals and I'd get an estimate of two weeks and three days later, they changed the estimate to 5 weeks. Like that. Five weeks later, the movie would be removed, no explanation. CHICKENSHIT.

Good hunting. LB
