Anyone out there using the Du-Ha under seat storage unit for gear and guns in their pickup? Do you think it's worth the $200. price and shipping? What about the DeeZee visor shelf? Same questions.

I've a cheap model of a visor shelf in my pickup. It holds my .243 and a box of shells all winter. I like it!

I have a visor shelf in my truck. It came from Cabela's, but the one I have is no longer made (can't think of the brand). It won't hold a rifle! Even my skinny little Rem 700 .221 FB won't fit well enough for me to leave up there. Pretty disappointing, but it's still a nice place to shove ammo, snuff, all kinds of other small things...so it stays. Sorry, not the same brand you're interested in, but be careful with visor shelves and try to get a good idea of the capacity before buying.

No one tried to convince me otherwise, so I just installed the Du-Ha. It swallowed up all the extra belts, radiator hoses, clamps, tools, repair kits, fix-a-flat, bulbs, cordage, utensils, glue, wire, duct tape, and every other loose or boxed item out of the cab. It was one expensive piece of tupperware, but it sure works. The item itself isn't worth the price, but the convenience of being able to carry all the emergency items all the time, invisibly, without ever having to take them in and out of the truck sure is.

I have a Jeep that I fabricated an overhead rack for. It was made of a wire type of shelf from Home depot and attached to the roll bar behind the windshield. I know my Chevy pickup has a better insulated roof than the Jeep, but, the heat build up inside that jeep, parked in the sun, will cause the rifle left in the compartment to be so hot you can't hold it. I also noticed a little oil on the scope adjustment ring.
